Wester Ross in the Highlands of Scotland covers the area between Plockton and Ullapool. It has relatively few roads or settlements, but a plenitude of glorious lochs and mountains, with some of the finest (and most rugged) land and seascapes. To the south is the Applecross peninsula, with spectacular views from Bealach-na-Bo (Pass of the Cattle) over the isles of Skye, Raasay and Rona. This area was one of the earliest seats of Christianity in Scotland. Further north lie the mighty Torridon Mountains...Beinn Alligin, Liathach, Beinn Eighe...hills abounding in wildlife including eagles, otters and pine martens. Stunning coastal scenery features in the northernmost parts of Wester Ross.
