Sunday Loch Lomond, Crianlarich, Loch Awe, the Pass of Brander to Oban for the afternoon ferry to Lochboisdale, South Uist and our hotel (2 nights).
Monday Full day tour of South Uist - moors, peat bogs, sweeping beaches, machair, lochans, causeways, Flora MacDonald’s birthplace at Milton. Loch Skipport, Loch Druidibeg Nature Reserve.
Tuesday Continuing through the islands to the green isle of Berneray with its gorgeous beaches (where Prince Charles has spent periods experiencing the crofter’s way of life). Afternoon ferry across the Sound of Harris to Leverburgh, then to Tarbert, Isle of Harris (3 nights).
Wednesday A full day tour of South Harris, via the contrasting east and west coasts - one being a wilderness of rock and small lochs, the other sweeping green downland and yellow beaches. See Harris Tweed being woven in an isolated crofter's cottage. St Clement's Church at Rodel (c. 1500). Some of the most dramatic coastal scenery in Britain. Kyles of Scalpay and Isle of Scalpay.
Thursday Through mountainous North Harris via Rhenigidale Village, a full day tour of Lewis, including Stornoway (the only town in the Outer Hebrides), Callanish Standing Stones (Neolithic Temple), Barvas Moor, Carloway Broch (ancient fortress tower).
Friday Morning ferry to Uig, Isle of Skye then south via Portree, The Cuillin Mountains, Kyle of Lochalsh, Kintail, Glengarry, Fort William, Glencoe, Rannoch Moor to Glasgow.
