Sunday Loch Lomond, Arrochar, Loch Long, Rest-and-be-Thankful, Loch Fyne, Inveraray, Lochgilphead, Tarbert, Kennacraig. Ferry to Port Askaig, Islay. Thence to our hotel
Monday A leisurely day on Islay - Bowmore, Kildalton High Cross, The Oa Peninsula, Port Charlotte, The Rhinns, Machir Bay, Portnahaven, Finlaggan (Lord of the Isles), photogenic Ardbeg Distillery etc.
Tuesday Another very leisurely day - ferry to the very unique Isle of Jura - a peaceful, natural wilderness for eagle and deer - driving to the head of the road at Ardlussa. Great views of the Paps of Jura.
Wednesday The coach takes the ferry to Colonsay - six hours to explore twenty square miles of unspoilt paradise for the naturalist and archaeologist. Sandy beaches, rocky hills and coastline; one hundred and seventy species of birds, five hundred species of local flora as well as two of the few remaining woodlands of the Hebrides.
Thursday Ferry from Port Ellen to the mainland. Thence via Tarbert, ferry across Loch Fyne to Portavadie. To Dunoon, then ferry across the Firth of Clyde to Gourock (great views!) thence to Paisley and Glasgow.
